Fund Development Intern

Site: Beyond Housing at 6506 Wright Way, Pine Lawn, MO 63121 and remote

Position Summary:

Beyond Housing’s development department is more focused than ever on growing our individual donor base. This internship will be instrumental in helping our department lay a successful foundation for growth. Through a mix of administrative duties and front-line fundraising experience, this role will equip future leaders with the tools needed to run a successful development shop, while providing opportunities to grow your personal network and connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about community. The Fund Development Intern will support activities and events hosted by the Development and Marketing teams. Project areas include the Women’s Leadership Network, Young Friends of Beyond Housing, and general department admin tasks.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Administrative support

  • Assist with weekly acknowledgement letters.
  • Perform data entry and pull reports in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Attend team meetings with Marketing and members of Senior Management.
  • Represent Beyond Housing at Development and Marketing events.
  • Research donors and prospects, compiling Prospect Briefings for fundraisers.
  • Attend donor and prospect meetings with staff as appropriate.
  • Assist with organization of Development files and storage.

Young Friends of Beyond Housing

  • Support in planning and implementation of Young Friends activities.
  • Coordinate NeighborWorks week event (June 2026) and determine project scope.
  • Attend meetings with the leadership team and serve on the events committee.
  • Assist in growing network of Young Friends.

Women’s Leadership Network

  • Support in planning and implementation of WLN activities.
  • Attend meetings with the leadership team.
  • Assist in growing the network of WLN members.

  • Reliable – Skills that reflect and value a team approach demonstrated integrity, effectiveness, efficiency, and the ability to deliver high quality service. Highly capable of handling multiple tasks, projects and timelines. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Trusted – Ability to work with residents, partners, and staff of diversified backgrounds with a positive, optimistic, solutions-oriented attitude. Shares a deep respect for the community, its stakeholders and the residents that we serve.
  • Driven – Passion for the work and an interest in continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Must possess strong written, oral and presentation communication skills.
  • Individuals must be able to think strategically and creatively and must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills, ability to work as part of a team and professional attitude and appearance are required.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, and Teams computer skills are required.
  • Experience with constituent relationship management systems, such as Raisers Edge®, is preferred.
  • Position will at times require work in the evenings and weekends.
