Exciting news for all baseball fans and young people in the 24:1 Community: The St. Louis Cardinals will be dedicating a new baseball field, Matt Carpenter Field, in Pagedale this Thursday at 9:30 a.m. The new field is located behind the Beyond Housing Pagedale Family Support Center at 1404 Ferguson Avenue.
The field was donated by the St. Louis Cardinals’ foundation, Cardinals Care, which has built and renovated 23 youth baseball fields throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and sponsors Redbird Rookies—a youth league that provides uniforms, gloves, bats, balls, and other equipment to kids who otherwise might not have the opportunity to play.
“This truly is a field of dreams,” said Beyond Housing CEO and President, Chris Krehmeyer. “Thanks to the generous support of Cardinals Care, this beautiful new field gives children in the 24:1 Community a place to discover the joys of baseball and develop important social skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives.”
Matt Carpenter Field will be the home of Beyond Housing’s Redbird Rookies, a youth league sponsored by Cardinals Care, and a place where kids throughout the 24:1 Community can discover the joy of baseball.
The event is open to the public so please join us this Thursday to celebrate this beautiful new field and exciting new addition for our youth in the 24:1 Community.
