ST. LOUIS – Beyond Housing has partnered with Affinia Healthcare, one of Missouri’s most significant community health organizations, to bring primary healthcare services to the 24:1 community, now a “healthcare desert”. The Affinia Pagedale Healthcare Center opens today at 6763 Page Avenue with a community open house from 10:00 – Noon. Beyond Housing focuses revitalization efforts in the 24:1 – the communities that make up the Normandy school district in North St. Louis County.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has designated Pagedale as a health professional shortage area (HPSA) – an area with a shortage of primary, dental, and mental health care. Communities with a score of 16 or above on the DHHS list are described as areas of “greatest need”; Pagedale currently scores an 18.
“Prior to today, the nearest clinics were in Pine Lawn or Berkeley, a 30-minute bus ride away. That’s a great distance for a senior who doesn’t get around so well anymore or a single mother looking for a well-baby check-up for her newborn,” said Chris Krehmeyer, President and CEO of Beyond Housing. “The need has been great for affordable and convenient healthcare in the 24:1. We are grateful and excited to partner with Affinia to open this clinic.”

The 2,800-square- foot-facility, located at 6763 Page Avenue, will provide affordable medical care for adults and children, laboratory services, afternoon and evening hours, and convenient walk-in appointments. The location will have two medical providers and support staff who will be available six days a week. The center will accept Medicaid, Medicare, Gateway to Better Health and most commercial insurance plans.
Affinia Healthcare expects to serve about 2,600 patients annually.
