As we saw with the COVID pandemic and the Great Recession in 2008, the poorest in our region are the hardest hit by any crisis.
While most of us have felt the sting of inflation, low-income St. Louis families are especially hurting.
Most families Beyond Housing serves live at or below the poverty line. Many who were progressing toward greater economic independence now struggle to pay rent and utilities and cannot afford to buy milk and eggs.
These rising costs also severely impact Beyond Housing’s ability to operate at a time when the need has never been greater—and threaten to erase the progress that we and so many others have worked for decades to create.
Beyond Housing will be hosting food drives and providing utility assistance in the weeks ahead to prevent these families from falling further behind.
St. Louis, we need you more than ever.
Please consider setting up a recurring monthly donation to stand between this crisis and St. Louis families in need during this perilous time.

“I realized bringing people together and inspiring enthusiasm in them for a shared cause was more enjoyable to me.”
The new department is designed to remove the barriers imposed by systemic poverty to help low-income St. Louisans achieve economic mobility more effectively—strengthening under-resourced communities and also the greater St. Louis region.
